Campaign for a Safe and Healthy California Commits $1 Million to Yes on Prop 50 Campaign
Initiative will protect the diverse communities that CSHC advocates for
SACRAMENTO, CA - The Campaign for a Safe and Healthy California (CSHC), the historic coalition of frontline communities, public health experts, political leaders, philanthropists, artists, labor unions and others is committing $1 million to the Yes on Prop 50 Campaign.
The coalition was formed in 2023 to protect the law that prohibits new oil drilling close to where nearly 3 million Californians live and requires existing oil wells to meet higher safety standards. After Big Oil’s surrender last spring, CSHC has remained committed to advocating for policies that will protect underserved communities, a primary goal of the Proposition 50 campaign.
“We proudly stand in strong support of Proposition 50 to ensure that the communities our coalition represents aren’t silenced by those who are putting politics over the health, safety and well-being of millions,” said Janette Robinson Flint, Executive Director, Black Women for Wellness Action Project, a member of CSHC. “Prop 50 boldly meets this urgent moment, giving Californians the best chance to maintain our power and have our voices heard––we look forward to working as a coalition to engage our communities about the importance of voting ‘yes.’”
